Gamer's Wanted

Gamer's Wanted

What happened to the gamer. What happened to the pewter minis and paints. We have lost what is was to be a gamer. Late nights with friends telling stupid jokes and making soda runs. We have forsaken our roots for a Fantasy world more digital enhanced and a lot less thought provoking. We have lost ourselves to the MMO.

I can't really say I hate MMO's because I myself play guild wars. But it in it's self is lacking so much. It's missing the feel of paper as you make your character. The sound of pages turning in books, the smell of lead as it is left behind on paper chronicling a new hero and new adventures waiting to be faced. It's missing the company that helps you when your backs against the wall.

But the world of the gamer has loss sight in it's self . It has forgotten what being a gamer was. With quicker and easier ways, there is no thought, no imagination any more. When did we give up what made us gamers, the ability to dream to Dream of a Warrior with Axe up high ready to cleave a goblin in two, A wizard who forgets how his spells go, or a Knight, Armor shining in the sun as he sits on top of his steed. Do you member the last great character you had, Maybe he or she was a bard, Supporting the team in a great battle, or a rogue using their skills to out wit a drag, or a cleric who stood up to a horde of Zombies

What has happened to the gamer, We have forgotten ourselves. We took the easy way out and stopped role-playing and started Roll Playing. It has gotten to the point where the powers the be are telling us no more, No more thinking, no more remembering, no more dreaming.
